Our Story

2021

The Beginning

Amicus Animae was founded on a single obsession: denim that honors a century of craft while breaking every rule of convention. The name, Latin for “a kindred spirit,” speaks to the pieces we make — garments meant to be lived in.

2022

The Mills

We partnered with the world's most storied mills — heritage Japanese Kaihara and American Cone Mills — sourcing rope-dyed indigo and heavyweight selvedge with generations of craft woven into every yard.

The Craft

Our jeans are deconstructed and rebuilt: raw hems left to fray naturally, waistbands cut and reassembled, vintage tints hand-applied. Every whisker, every fade, every splatter is placed by hand — no two pairs are ever identical.

Today

The Standard

Not fast fashion — slow, deliberate craft. Made for the modern individual who values what lasts.
